EBU FACULTY BIO
Dr. Moses Thiga is a highly qualified instructor in the Certificate in Science – Data Science program. With an impressive educational background and extensive teaching experience, Dr. Thiga brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom.

Dr. Thiga holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Liverpool University in the UK. His doctoral thesis, titled "A Location-based SMS and USSD Model for Mobile Advertising in Microenterprises," demonstrates his expertise in mobile advertising and information systems. Prior to his Ph.D., he completed his M.Sc. in Information Systems Management, focusing on knowledge management in Kenyan higher education at Liverpool University. Additionally, he holds an M.Sc. in Statistics from Egerton University, where his thesis focused on bandwidth demand modeling and estimation for different types of internet users. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Computer Science with first-class honors from Egerton University.

Dr. Thiga has been involved in teaching since 2010 and has gained valuable experience in the field. Alongside his teaching experience, he has also worked in various IT-related roles since 2009, providing him with practical industry knowledge. In the Master of Science – Data Science program, Dr. Thiga imparts his expertise to students, covering a wide range of topics related to data science. His educational background, combined with his teaching experience and practical work experience, allows him to provide students with comprehensive insights into the field.
