WHY EBU CHARGES A commitment fee for the scholarship program enrolments
In any non-for-profit organization, monetary support is subject to misuse. In order to ensure student retention and reduce attrition, we apply a commitment fee at the point of student registration. This fee serves to secure participant engagement and enables us to justify the costs associated with participation, which include expert instruction and material provision. It also helps to, by minimizing attrition, maintain the webinar activity level. When partners subsidise the commitment fee, we request that students be given a voucher that also serves as a form of ownership and commitment. Retention numbers have historically been very stable due to this board-mandated decision and strategy.
